60 days | Carroll County Maryland Family Photographer

60 days until Christmas!  Where did 2011 go?  The one major clue that the holidays are fast approaching?  The American Girl catalog.  Luci has every page circled.  Somebody stop that girl!

Daddy/Daughter Dance | Westminster Maryland Family Photography

Luci’s first Daddy/Daughter Dance.  Anyone who knows Luci, knows that she is a huge romantic. Luci loved putting on a pretty dress and making a grand entrance down the stairs to her daddy.  She’s captivated by love, courtship, marriage…all of it.  Her heart still belongs to her daddy–her Prince Charming.  I love the relationship that they share.  Brian works so hard to show her adoration, respect, pays her compliments,  teaches her the value of honesty and integrity, assures her that daddy will always defend her, and most importantly…he teaches her to pray and to put God first.  She’s watching his every move and taking notes.  Someday, I pray she uses her inner notebook when it’s time to find her true love.  If she does, she’s going to have one AMAZING HUSBAND.  “Good job, Brian.  She’s so blessed to have you in her life.”

“…love what you do.” | Carroll County Maryland Lifestyle Photographer

“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work.  And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.  If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking.  Don’t settle.  As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.  And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on.”- STEVE JOBS (1955-2011)

Back to Basics…and something new! | Carroll County Maryland Lifestyle Photography

Wow, this is so strange.  It’s been almost a year since I’ve blogged.  I actually had to search for all my old passwords because I had forgotten how to get on this thing!  I’ve missed blogging so much and honestly, blogging has come back at just the right time for me.

Back in 2006, I started blogging about our newly adopted daughter from China.  Some of you may remember my old blog, Green Grass Grows (I’ll insert a link here if I ever decide to activate that blog again).  The name of my blog reflected how I felt in my life…content with my green grass, instead of longing for what was on the other side of the fence.  I was in love with my new daughter (and of course, my three boys!) and wrote about our daily adventures and posted tons and tons of pictures.  My hobby turned into a passion for photography.  I loved knowing that with the snap of my camera, I was able to freeze that moment in time.  I enjoyed looking at life as photographs.  Soon, my passion evolved into a business and over the years, I’ve slowly grown into a professional photographer.  I have had amazing clients and I feel blessed that God gave me this craft.  I’ve heard somewhere that many professional chefs rarely cook for themselves; that there are interior decorators that live in homes with stark, white walls.  And somewhere down the road, I began to only pick up my camera for clients and stopped documenting my family through photos.  So it’s time to get back to basics…back to where it started…my life, my family.  I’m hoping that in doing so, I’ll be able to once again capture the many blessings in my life.

I’m also happy to announce that in addition to family photography, I am also available for engagements and weddings starting Spring 2012!  I’m so excited to enter this area of photography and look forward to a new chapter in my business.

So back to blogging, I go.  New look.  New Outlook.  New Chapter.
